Shoe tree outside Rockville, UT. Legend has it that the shoes are hung here in tribute to completing the Angels Landing hike in Zion NP.
I'm thinking of cruising Zion....
N O P E!
I'll go somewhere else.
But before I leave in a bit of disappointment, let me get a shot of where I should have been going.
Just outside the park entrance, in the town of Springdale, is the MV Lodge. The parking lot of the lodge has some fantastic views.
Last shot from the lodge before I take off for Plan B. I'll head south toward the Valley of Fire.
Rolling into the Virgin River Gorge.
South of Mesquite and north of Vegas is the Valley of Fire State Park. Wonderful color & geology!
The Cabins were built by the Civilian Conservation Corp in the 1930's. These were used by hikers to the "new" park.
"Keep both hands on the bars!"
Just enjoying the view.
E.T. getting chewed out when he got "home".
Rain remnants from a few weeks ago.
Leaving the park via the southern part of the V of F hwy.
Just south of Primm, NV. Solar construction in progress. There are actually 3 of these towers being built.
Hwy 9 near Zion.
Closet city at the Zion entrance.
Nice tribute to our troops in Overton, NV.
Inside the Virgin River Rec Area.
Inside the Magestic View Lodge.
